Characteristics
belongs to Aminobenzoicacid Ester. It belongs to Opthalmic Products and Local Anesthetic, Opthalmic pharmacological group.The Molecular Weight of Proparacaine (HCl) is 330.80. It is weakly acidic drug, 7.46% solution of the drug is isotonic.
Contraindications
Proparacaine (HCl) is contraindicated in conditions like Hypersensitivity to any component of product.
Effects
The severe or irreversible adverse effects of Proparacaine (HCl), which give rise to further complications include Cardiac arrhythmias, CNS depression, Hemorrhage, Keratitis, Conjunctival congestion.The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Proparacaine (HCl) are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Blurred vision, Redness, Burning, Diaphoresis, Contact dermatitis, Lacrimation, Stinging on application.
Indications
Proparacaine (HCl) is primarily indicated in conditions like Anesthesia, and can also be given in adjunctive therapy as an alternative drug of choice in Cataract, Glucoma.
