Diosmin is a flavonoid. Diosmin is used to relieve capillary impairement and venous insufficiency of the lower limb, and for hemorrhoids.

Characteristics
Diosmin also known as Bioflaronoid. . It is of Natural origin and belongs to Glucopyrone. It belongs to Vasotherapeutics pharmacological group.The Molecular Weight of Diosmin is 608.50.
Contraindications
Diosmin is contraindicated in conditions like Hypersensitivity to any component of product.
Effects
The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Diosmin are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Headache, GI upset, Autonomic complaints.
Indications
Diosmin is primarily indicated in conditions like Hemorrhoids, Venous lymphatic insufficieny, and can also be given in adjunctive therapy as an alternative drug of choice in Leg ulcer.

Risks
Drug should not be given to Paediatrics.If prescribing authority justifies the benefits of the drug against the possible damages he/she should reevaluate them and consult the reference material and previous studies.
Storage
Warnings
Diosmin should be used with caution in the patient of acute hemorrhoidal attack. The administration of this product does not preclude treatment for other anal conditions. The treatment should be short duration. If symptoms do not subside promptly, a protological examination should be performed and the treatment should be reviewed.
