Bambuterol

Bambuterol acts as a bronchodilator. Bambuterol dilates the bronchi (air passage) and used in the treatment of asthma ( respiratory tract disease characterized by bronchospasm, wheezing and difficulty in breathing). Bambuterol is the ingredient of many rectal preparations used for the symptomatic relief of haemorrhoids.

Characteristics
. It is of Synthetic origin. It belongs to Beta-2 adrenergic agonist pharmacological group on the basis of mechanism of action and also classified in Long Acting Bronchodilator pharmacological group.The Molecular Weight of Bambuterol is 403.90.
Contraindications
Bambuterol is contraindicated in conditions like Hypersensitivity.
Effects
The severe or irreversible adverse effects of Bambuterol, which give rise to further complications include Tonic muscle cramps.The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Bambuterol are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Headache, Palpitation, Tremor.
Indications
Bambuterol is primarily indicated in conditions like Asthma, Bronchiolitis, Bronchitis, Emphysema, Obstructive airway disease, Oedema, Oliguria due to renal failure, and can also be given in adjunctive therapy as an alternative drug of choice in Endometrial cancer.

Interfrence
Risks
Drug should not be given to Pregnant Mothers, and patients suffering from Liver Malfunction.If prescribing authority justifies the benefits of the drug against the possible damages he/she should reevaluate them and consult the reference material and previous studies.

Tab Store in a well closed container, at room temperature, Below 30°C.
Warnings
Bambuterol is not recommended in patients with severe impaired liver function. It should be used with caution in patients with thyrotoxicosis and in pateints with severe cardiovascular disorders. It is unsuitable for the relief of acute bronchospasm or in patients with unstable respiratory disease.
