Characteristics

Contraindications
Sodium Stibogluconate is contraindicated in conditions like Renal diseases,Pneumonia,Liver diseases,Heart disease,Complicating secondary infection,Previous antimonial therapy.
Effects
The severe or irreversible adverse effects of Sodium Stibogluconate, which give rise to further complications include Venous thrombosis.Sodium Stibogluconate produces potentially life-threatening effects which include Hepatotoxicity, Cardiotoxicity, Renal toxicity. which are responsible for the discontinuation of Sodium Stibogluconate therapy.The signs and symptoms that are produced after the acute overdosage of Sodium Stibogluconate include Renal failure, Circulatory collapse, Disseminated intravascular coagulopathy.The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Sodium Stibogluconate are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Anorexia, Myalgia, Malaise, Arthralgia, Nausea and vomiting.
Indications
Sodium Stibogluconate is primarily indicated in conditions like Leishmaniasis, Visceral leishmaniasis.

Risks
