Sennosides is a natural complex of anthraquinone glycosides found in senna, isolated from Cassia angustifolia. Sennosides is a laxative. Sennosides is used in constipation, causes the evacuation of bowel and also used to clear the intestine before rectal or bowel examinations.

Characteristics
Sennosides also known as Senna. . It is of Natural origin and belongs to Glycoside. It belongs to Laxatives pharmacological group on the basis of mechanism of action and also classified in Stimulant pharmacological group.The Molecular Weight of Sennosides is 862.70.
Contraindications
Sennosides is contraindicated in conditions like Intestinal obstruction,Acute or chronic abdominal symptoms.
Effects
The severe or irreversible adverse effects of Sennosides, which give rise to further complications include Cathartic colon, Schwann cell proliferation, GI smooth muscle atrophy, Submucosal depletion of adipose tissue, Pseudo strictures, Dilated aperistaltic colon, Loss of colonic haustral pattern, Muscularis mucosae hypertrophies.The signs and symptoms that are produced after the acute overdosage of Sennosides include Dehydration.The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Sennosides are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Nausea, Diarrhea, Abdominal cramps, Abdominal discomfort.

Sennosides is primarily indicated in conditions like Constipation.

Warnings
