Hyaluronidase

Hyaluronidase is enzyme that catalyzes the breakdown of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronidase is found in the mammalian testicular and spleen tissues, in bees and snake venoms and in certain species of Clostridium, Staphylococcus and Streptococcus. Hyaluronidase is used clinically to facilitate the administration of fluid by hypodermoclysis. Hyaluronidase is used to render the tissues more readily pormeable to injected fluids e.g for introduction of fluids by sub-cutaneously infusion.
