Alcuronium (Cl)

Alcuronium (Cl) is a competitive or non-depolarizing neuromuscular blocking agent. Alcuronium (Cl) is a synthetic derivative of the curare alkaloid Toxiferine. Alcuronium (Cl) is used to provide muscle relaxation in general anaesthesia (loss of conciousness) for surgical procedures.it has an intermediate onset and duration of action.

Characteristics
Alcuronium (Cl) also known as Allnortoxiferin Chloride. . It is of Synthetic origin and belongs to Nortoxiferinium. It belongs to Cholinergic nicotinic antagonist pharmacological group on the basis of mechanism of action and also classified in Muscle Relaxants pharmacological group.The Molecular Weight of Alcuronium (Cl) is 827.90.
Contraindications
Alcuronium (Cl) is contraindicated in conditions like Hypersensitivity.
Effects
Alcuronium (Cl) produces potentially life-threatening effects which include Anaphylactoid reactions, Hypotension, Cardiac Arrest, Cardiac arrest, Bronchospasm, Bronchospasm. which are responsible for the discontinuation of Alcuronium (Cl) therapy.The signs and symptoms that are produced after the acute overdosage of Alcuronium (Cl) include Prolonged respiratory & muscular paralysis.The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Alcuronium (Cl) are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Skin reactions, GI symptoms, Increase in heart rate.
Indications
Alcuronium (Cl) is primarily indicated in conditions like Adjunct to anesthesia, Neuromuscular blockade.

Warnings
Alcuronium should be used with caution in patients with impaired renal function or during pregnancy.
