Gelatin Plasma Substitutes

Gelatin Plasma Substitutesuse in plasma volume replacement and as fluid replacement in plasma exchange procedures. They are osmotically active colloid solutions with a colloid osmotic pressure simmilar to that of plasma which transiently retain fluid in the intravascular space until the gelation is removed by distribution and renal excretion.
