Dydrogesterone also known as Isopregnenone, Isopregnenone. . It is of Synthetic origin and belongs to Progestogen. It belongs to Progesterone agonist pharmacological group on the basis of mechanism of action and also classified in Sex Hormones and Female Sex Hormones pharmacological group.The Molecular Weight of Dydrogesterone is 312.40.

Effects
The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Dydrogesterone are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Dizziness, Nausea, Skin rashes, Urticaria, Hair loss, Fluid retention, Edema, Acne, Gynecomastia, Breakthrough bleeding, Breast discomfort, Chloasma, Appetite and weight changes, Skin rashes, Mental depression, dizziness, Allergic.
Indications
Dydrogesterone is primarily indicated in conditions like Amenorrhoea, Dysfunctional uterine bleeding, Dysmenorrhoea, Endometriosis, Habitual abortion, Infertility, Infertility or irregular cycles, Premenstural syndrome, and can also be given in adjunctive therapy as an alternative drug of choice in Premenstrual syndrome, Recurrent miscarriage (habitual abortion).

Risks
Drug should not be given to Paediatrics, Pregnant Mothers, and Neonates.If prescribing authority justifies the benefits of the drug against the possible damages he/she should reevaluate them and consult the reference material and previous studies.

Warnings
Dydrogesterone should be used with caution in patients with cardiovascular or renal impairment, diabetes mellitus, asthma, epilepsy and migraine, history of mental depression, undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, liver impairment. It is not recommended to take it in early pregnancy.
