Conjugated Estrogens/Bazedoxifene

Conjugated estrogens are purified from pregnant mares'' urine and consist of the sodium salts of water-soluble estrogen sulfates blended to represent the average composition of material derived from pregnant mares'' urine. Conjugated estrogens are a mixture of sodium estrone sulfate and sodium equilin sulfate, and also contain as concomitant components, sodium sulfate conjugates, 17a-dihydroequilin, 17a-estradiol, and 17β-dihydroequilin. Bazedoxifene is supplied as the acetate salt (bazedoxifene acetate) and has the chemical name 1H-Indol-5-ol,1-[[4-[2-(hexahydro-1H-azepin-1-yl) ethoxy]phenyl]methyl]-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-3-methyl-, monoacetate.it is used for the treatment of moderate to severe vasomotor symtoms and perventation of postmenopausal osteoporosis'

Effects
The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by conjugated Estrogens/Bazedoxifene are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Dizziness, Nausea, Diarrhea, Abdominal pain, Dyspepsia, Neck pain, dizziness, dyspepsia, muscle spasm, oropharyngeal pain.
Indications

Warnings
Women taking conjugated estrogen /bazedoxifen should not take progestins, additional estrogens or additional estrogen agonist/antagonists. Cardiovascular disorders, including venous thromboembolism, pulmonary embolism, stroke, and retinal vascular thrombosis. Malignant neoplasms, including endometrial cancer, breast cancer, and ovarian cancer. Estrogens increase the risk of gallbladder disease Discontinue estrogen if loss of vision, severe hypertriglyceridemia or cholestatic jaundice occur. Monitor thyroid function in women on thyroid replacement therapy .
