Potassium clorazepate is a long acting benzodiazepine with general properties as Diazepam.

Contraindications

Effects
The severe or irreversible adverse effects of Potassium Clorazepate, which give rise to further complications include Jaundice, Urinary retention, Visual disturbances, Blood disorders.The signs and symptoms that are produced after the acute overdosage of Potassium Clorazepate include Coma, Ataxia, Tremor, Depression, Aggression.The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Potassium Clorazepate are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Vertigo, Drowsiness, Pain, Sedation, Amnesia.
Indications
Potassium Clorazepate is primarily indicated in conditions like Anxiety, Epilepsy, and can also be given in adjunctive therapy as an alternative drug of choice in Alcohol withdrawal syndrome.

Potassium clorazepate should be avoided in patients with preexisting cns depression,coma,pulmonary insufficiency. Such patients should not drive. Caution is required in patientswith organic brain changes particularly arteriosclerosis.
