Flucloxacillin.

Flucloxacillin is an antibiotic & is used to treat infections caused by susceptible gram Positive bacteria. It is active against Beta-lactamase producing organisms such as staphylococcus accreus. Which would otherwise be resistant to most penicillins.

The severe or irreversible adverse effects of Flucloxacillin., which give rise to further complications include Hepatitis, Cholestatic jaundice, Cholestatic jaundice, Phlebitis, Neutropenia, Agranulocytosis, Kernectirus in neonates.Flucloxacillin. produces potentially life-threatening effects which include Pseudomembranous colitis, Bone marrow depression, Anaphylaxis. which are responsible for the discontinuation of Flucloxacillin. therapy.The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Flucloxacillin. are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Inflammation, Nausea, Diarrhea, Rashes, Pain.
Indications
Flucloxacillin. is primarily indicated in conditions like Cellulitis, Osteomyelitis, Pneumonia, Septicaemia, and can also be given in adjunctive therapy as an alternative drug of choice in Empyema,.
