Enalaprilat

Enalaprilat is the first dicarboxylate containing ACE inhibitor,developed partially to overcome limitations of captopril.It works by helping to relax blood vessels and thus helps in reducing blood pressure.

Contraindications
Enalaprilat is contraindicated in conditions like Pregnancy.
Effects
The signs and symptoms that are produced after the acute overdosage of Enalaprilat include fatigue, Dizziness, Headache, Dry cough, Deafness.The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Enalaprilat are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Rashes, Itching, Hypotension, Loss of taste.
Indications
Enalaprilat is primarily indicated in conditions like Hypertension, Left ventricular dysfunction, and can also be given in adjunctive therapy as an alternative drug of choice in Heart failure.

Liver Function Test (LFT) Increased in serum creatinin
Risks

Warnings
Precautions should be considered in patients with aortic stenosis or outflow tract obstruction. In patients with renovascular diseases.
