Cetylpyridinium Chloride

Cetylpyridinium Chloride is an antiseptic. Cetylpyridinium Chloride is used in lozenges or in solutions for mouth washes, for the treatment of minor infections of the mouth and throat. Cetylpyridinium Chloride is also used topically for the treatment of skin and eye infetions.


Adult Dose
Dose: 1
Single Dose: 1 (1)
Frequency: 6 hourly
Route: One lozenge every 3 hours. Allow the lozenge to dissolve slowly in the mouth

Single Dose: 15 (15)
Frequency: As recommended.
Route: For children greater than 6 years.Gargle or rinse with atleast 15 ml .Repeat 2-3 times daily

Contraindications
Cetylpyridinium Chloride is contraindicated in conditions like Hypersensitivity to any component of product.
Effects
The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Cetylpyridinium Chloride are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Nausea, Vomiting, Urticaria, Skin irritation, Burning sensation.
Indications
Cetylpyridinium Chloride is primarily indicated in conditions like Eye infections, Gingivitis, Periodontitis, Skin infections.
