Lutropin Alfa

Lutropin Alfa is a recombinant DNA-derived human luteinising hormone (LH). LH is a gonadotrophin, secreted by the anterior lobe of pituitary, along with another gonadotrophin, follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). It stimulates the normal functioning of the gonads and the secretion of sex hormones in both men and women. The recombinant form of LH (lutropin alpha), is used in combination with follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), for the treatment of infertility chiefly in femles but also in males with proven hypopituitarism.
