Fresh Frozen Plasma

Fresh Frozen Plasma is prepared from the supernatant liquid obtained by centrifugation of one donation of whole blood. Fresh Frozen Plasma is used to replace coagulation factors or other plasma proteins where their concentration or functional activity is critically reduced e.g to reverse warfarin effect.

Contraindications

Effects
The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Fresh Frozen Plasma are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Fever, Chills, Rashes, Allergic reactions, Bronchospasm, Adult respiratory distress syndrome.
Indications
Fresh Frozen Plasma is primarily indicated in conditions like Liver diseases, Risk of acid aspiration in obstetric patients.
