Hepatitis B Vaccine is a sterile preparation containing particles of hepatitis surface antigen (HBsAg). There are two types of vaccines available each containing hepatitis surface antigen (HBsAg) adsorbed onto alluminium hydroxide. In one type of vaccine the surface antigen is obtained from plasma after purification and inactivation processes and in the second type the surface antigen is produced in yeast cells using recombinaant DNA techniques.
