Apraclonidine (HCl)

Apraclonidine (HCl) is an alpha-2 adrenoceptor agonist, a derivative of clonidine. It reduces the secretions of aqueous humour in the anterior chamber of the eye. Therefore, Apraclonidine (HCl) is used to control intra-ocular pressure (IOP), following laser surgery to the eye. Apraclonidine (HCl) is also used to delay laser treatment or surgery for glaucoma, in patients not adequately controlled by another drug.
