Potassium Bicarbonate

Potassium Bicarbonate is used as an antacid.


Adult Dose
Dose: 10 to 40 g
Single Dose: 25 (25)
Frequency: As recommended.
Route: PO
Instructions: Add one tablet to a glass with 3 to 4 ounces of cold water. Allow the medicine to dissolve completely. Sip the mixture slowly over 5 to 10 minutes. Do not open the foil pouch until you are ready to take that dose. Take your medicine at regular intervals

Contraindications
Potassium Bicarbonate is contraindicated in conditions like Kidney infection,Dehydration,Hypersensitivity to any component of product.
Effects
The severe or irreversible adverse effects of Potassium Bicarbonate, which give rise to further complications include Rashes, Confusion, Anxiety, Numbness, Chest pain, Chest tightness, Itching, Hives.The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Potassium Bicarbonate are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Gas, Stomach discomfort.
Indications
Potassium Bicarbonate is primarily indicated in conditions like Prevention of hypokalaemia.
