Balsam of Peru

Balsam of Peru is obtained from Myroxylon pereirae. Balsam of Peru is local irritant. It has mild antiseptic properties. Balsam of Peru is used in the treatment of superficial skin lesions and pruritis, and as an application to bedsores and chronic ulcer.

Balsam of Peru is primarily indicated in conditions like Amenorrhoea, Asthma, Burns, Dermatosis, Dysentery, Pruritus, Skin lesions, Ulcers, and can also be given in adjunctive therapy as an alternative drug of choice in Cancer.
