Diphtheria Toxoids

Diphtheria Toxoids is a sterile suspension of the formaldehyde treated products of growth of Corynebacterium diphtheriae. Diphtheria Toxoids is used for active immunization against diptheria in infants and children under six years of age.

Effects
The severe or irreversible adverse effects of Diphtheria Toxoids, which give rise to further complications include Tachycardia, Urticaria, Hypotension, Neurological disturbances.The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Diphtheria Toxoids are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Fever, Pain, Redness, Flushing, Tenderness.

Warnings
Care is to be taken by the health-care provider for the safe and effective use of DT.A separate, sterile syringe and needle or a sterile disposable unit should be used for each patient to prevent transmission of hepatitis or other infectious agents from person to person. Needles should not be recapped and should be disposed of according to biohazard waste guidelines.
