Alverine Citrate

Alverine Citrate is anticholinergic (antispasmodic) agent used as a smooth muscle relaxant in disorders of the gastrointestinal and genitourinary tracts.


Adult Dose
Dose: 60 to 120 mg
Single Dose: 90 (90)
Frequency: As recommended.
Route: PO
Instructions: Preferably in 1-3 divided doses.

Contraindications
Alverine Citrate is contraindicated in conditions like Paralytic ileus,Intestinal obstruction.
Effects
The signs and symptoms that are produced after the acute overdosage of Alverine Citrate include Hypotension, Atropine like toxic effects.The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Alverine Citrate are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Dizziness, Headache, Nausea, Rashes, Pruritus, Allergic reactions.
Indications
Alverine Citrate is primarily indicated in conditions like Adjunct in GI-disorders, Dysmenorrhoea, Irritable bowel syndrome, Muscular spasm.

Warnings
Avoid alverine citrate in patients with intestinal obstruction or paralytic ileus. Tell your doctor if you are looking pale and feeling tired or you are suffering from severe constipation, fever or have recently travelled abroad or you are or may be pregnant, if you have abnormal vaginal bleeding or discharge or if you have difficulty or pain passing urine.
