Sucrose

Sucrose is a non-reducing disaccharide obtained from sugar cane (Saccharum officinarum), sugar beet (Beta vulgaris) and sorghum. Sucrose is composed of glucose and fructose linked via their anomeric carbons. Sucrose is extensively used as a food and a sweetener. its hypertonic solution is used to initiate osmotic diuresis.
