Hydroxyzine is a synthetic drug with central nervous sytem depressant, antispasmodic, antihistaminic and antifibrillatory actions. Hydroxyzine is administered orally or intramuscularly.

Hydroxyzine also known as hydroxzine-pamoate. Hydroxyzine Dihydrochloride is the derivative of Hydroxyzine. It is of Synthetic origin and belongs to Piperazine. It belongs to Psychotherapeutic Drugs and Antiemetic pharmacological group.The Molecular Weight of Hydroxyzine is 374.90.

Effects
The severe or irreversible adverse effects of Hydroxyzine, which give rise to further complications include Hemolysis.Hydroxyzine produces potentially life-threatening effects which include Arrhythmias. which are responsible for the discontinuation of Hydroxyzine therapy.The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Hydroxyzine are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Dizziness, Headache, Drowsiness, Fatigue, Nervousness, Blurred vision, Termors, Seizures and convulsions, Paresthesias, Xerostomia, nervousness, Nervousness, dizziness, Thickning of bronchial reaction.
Indications
Hydroxyzine is primarily indicated in conditions like Anxiety, Insomnia, Pruritus, Tension, Urticaria, and can also be given in adjunctive therapy as an alternative drug of choice in Antiemetic poisoning, Routine management of the 3rd stage of labour, Surgical procedures.

Interfrence
Risks
Drug should not be given to Pregnant Mothers, patients suffering from Kidney dysfunction, and patients suffering from Liver Malfunction.If prescribing authority justifies the benefits of the drug against the possible damages he/she should reevaluate them and consult the reference material and previous studies.
Storage
Store Between 15°C-30°C. Refrigeration and Freezing is not recommended. Syrup Store in a well closed container, Below 40°C. Do not Freeze. Protect from Sunlight and Moisture. Tab Store Below 40°C. Protect from Sunlight and Moisture.
Warnings
Patients should observe caution while driving or performing other tasks requiring alertness. Hydroxyzine should be used with caution in patients with asthma, glaucoma, ulcer, heart diseases, high B.P and seizures.
